Terms of use
In short: your data stays with you, but the application does not guarantee that you comply with legal and tax rules — that responsibility remains yours.
This English text is a translation provided for convenience. The French version is the authoritative one, and it is the text displayed inside the application on first launch. In case of any discrepancy, the French text prevails. These are not the terms of sale that you draw up for your own clients.
1. What Ohmnia is
Ohmnia is a management tool that runs entirely on your computer. It helps you issue invoices and quotes, keep a journal of your transactions, and track an inventory and your working time.
Your data stays on your machine. It is not transmitted to anyone — not to the publisher, not to any third-party service. The only possible network access is the update check, which is disabled by default.
2. Ohmnia does not make you compliant
This is the most important point in this document. Using Ohmnia does not mean that your accounts, your invoices or your tax returns comply with the rules that apply to you.
The tax rates, thresholds, identifier formats and legal wording offered by the application are starting points. They change, they vary by activity and by country, and they may be out of date by the time you use them.
The "Compliance" panel is an automatic checklist, not a certification. It verifies what software can verify — that certain statements are present, that numbering is continuous — and nothing more.
Responsibility for your legal, tax and accounting obligations remains entirely yours. When in doubt, consult an accountant, a trustee or your tax authority.
3. Your data and your backups
The application creates automatic local backups and offers an encrypted backup to external storage. These mechanisms do not replace your own arrangements.
A disk failure, a theft, a fire or a mistake can destroy your data. Keep at least one copy away from your computer, and check from time to time that it can still be read.
The password for encrypted backups is not stored anywhere. If it is lost, the backup is permanently unreadable: nobody, including the publisher, can recover it.
4. No warranty
Ohmnia is provided as is, without any warranty of uninterrupted operation or freedom from error. Software can contain defects, including in calculations.
Check your documents before sending them to a client, and your figures before any tax filing. Do not rely blindly on a displayed total.
5. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for damages arising from use of the application: loss of data, loss of business, lost earnings, tax reassessment or disputes with a client.
This limitation does not apply in cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct, nor in situations where the law imposes liability that cannot be excluded. Depending on your country, some of these exclusions may have no effect in your case.
6. Updates
Automatic updates are disabled until you provide a source. If you enable them, the application contacts the address you configured in order to compare version numbers.
An update may change how the application behaves. A backup of your database is made automatically before each installation.
7. Acceptance
By using Ohmnia, you acknowledge that you have read these terms and accepted that compliance of your business is your sole responsibility.
If you do not accept these terms, do not use the application.
